The United Way for Southeastern Michigan Fund Development staff had the pleasure of experiencing one of George Piliouras’ Narrative Workshops in July 2014. George’s workshop was very comprehensive. Not only did our team learn valuable presentation skills, but we also had the opportunity to practice what we learned during the session and receive real-time feedback from George. What stood out most was George’s ability to command the room with passion and entertaining stories. Passion is a really big motivating force in the non-profit sector and George worked diligently to help our teams speak from a place of passion. For one of the exercises, small teams were asked to pitch. Not only was the exercise fun, but in a short time thanks to George’s instruction, we were able to develop captivating and inspiring pitches about a product that people typically don’t think twice about. George truly delivers when he promises to inspire, motivate and engage – and we hope to welcome him back to United Way for future cross-functional staff trainings.
